Principal's Message

Dear Wildcat Community,

I am honored and excited to have been selected to join the Wildcat Community as your next Principal. Pomerado Elementary School is an exceptional community of learners, educators, and families. I will continue the standard of excellence that our Pomerado community deserves.

I bring a unique breadth of knowledge and experience to serve our community. I have worked as an Instructional Aide, Special Education Teacher, Instructional Specialist, and District Administrator. As a classroom educator, I served students with disabilities at the elementary, middle, and high school level. Most recently, I served as the Director of Assessment and Accountability in a nearby school district, where I had the privilege of leading many district-wide initiatives that led to improved outcomes and experiences for students, including leading the District’s Title I Schoolwide Programs. I’m genuinely looking forward to working more directly with students, educators and the community in my role as your Principal.

My journey to become an educator was fueled by a drive to advocate for high quality, inclusive education for all students. I believe every student has inherent strengths and unique talents that should be celebrated and leveraged to help them meet their goals and reach their full potential. I am thrilled to join the Pomerado learning community that has been recognized for excellence in inclusive practices. I am committed to continuing to grow strength-based programs which focus on fostering collaboration, critical thinking skills, and a positive classroom community.

As a proud parent of three rising scholars in the Poway Unified School District, I know the importance of family involvement and support at school. I am committed to building strong partnerships with our families and community partners, ensuring open communication, and fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where every family feels safe, welcomed, valued, heard, and connected to our school.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the dedicated Pomerado staff. As we look forward to the 2023-24 school year together, I invite you to join me in embracing a spirit of collaboration, open dialogue, and continuous improvement.  My door is always open and I want to hear from you!  Your input is invaluable as we shape the future of Pomerado Elementary School. I am truly honored to serve as your next Principal, and I look forward to working with each and every one of you.

With great enthusiasm and Wildcat pride,

Julie Goldberg
